I woke up in the middle of the night the other night and just could not fall back to sleep. In an attempt to tire myself out, I attacked the mending pile. I didn’t want to wake anyone, so I sticked to the hand-sewing only mends. A few things to go back to the wardrobe then:

My sweatpants which are hand-me-downs from my sister. They had holes close to the (too-small-to-use) pocket. These sweatpants are quite worn but very comfortable and great to wear at home. Since these will never leave the house I didn’t bother to mend them “invisibly”, so I just sewed up the holes so they won’t grow.

A thrifted pair of kid’s sweatpants. I didn’t notice the hole in the crotch seam until we had brought them home. For some reason I didn’t expect there to be holes and didn’t even look, which is strange because I always check in the stores that sell new clothes!

A hand-me-down sweater from my friend Ida. I always try to mend knitted garments as soon as possible, because they tend to unravel if you don’t…

Finally, an alteration. This is also a hand-me-down from Ida, a super cute T-shirt which had these tie bands. I can’t stand tie bands. They just don’t look good on me, and they always catch on things or fall onto my plate when eating and so on. Off they went! I attached them in a small “X” in order to to keep the little V but not leave it completely open.

After this I did some pinning for a toile while listening to the love to sew podcast, which was as always rather relaxing. After that I could finally go back to sleep.
